Thermometers: when making milk-based drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and flat whites, it is essential to pour the milk when it reaches the optimum temperature of between 60°C and 70°C. Too cold, and the milk won’t have the right consistency, too hot and it can boil, losing its natural sweetness and adding a bitter taste. Timers: get the correct extraction time by using timers. Great for machine set-up and checking brewing variables such as coffee weight. Helps to monitor extraction time throughout the day under changing external conditions including temperature.
